Microsoft’s revenues for fiscal year 2023, broken out by product line.
Microsoft’s biggest source of revenue is Azure, a cloud computing platform that offers services through Microsoft’s global network of data centers.
In this sector, Azure holds a 24% market share, second only to Amazon Web Services (AWS) at 31%.
Microsoft’s next biggest product line is its cloud office suite software, also known as Microsoft 365. This includes everything from Microsoft Word to Outlook.
Microsoft claims it is working on evolving 365 into an “AI-first platform that enables every individual to amplify their creativity and productivity.”
Late in 2023, Microsoft also announced it had rebranded its AI product to “Copilot”.
The free version of Copilot is effectively the old Bing Chat, while a paid version of Copilot is available to 365 customers.
